the newest and by far the cutest member of the Aber Instruments family!

This magnificent dragon has been meticulously handcrafted by our brilliant Elsa, using the Aber Instruments special design woven to celebrate their 35 years of biotech and brewing innovation.

Elsa been with us since 2020 and designs and makes teddies, bunnies and hearts (and the occasional dragon) from our fabrics; and she's very good at it.

Jamie joined us in 2009, initially working in the cafe for 6 years and then moving on to despatch, packing all the online, mail order, millshop and trade orders. 

One of his favourite moments was meeting King Charles, back in 2012 when he was Prince of Wales and visiting the mill. 

One of our newer recruits Lydia's worked here since 2021, warping, tying in and weaving.

She loves seeing the designs through from start to finish. Watching the cones go up on the stand and seeing how the colours come together in the warp and change whilst being woven on the looms.

The Campaign For Wool aims to educate as many people as possible about the incredible benefits and versatility of wool in fashion, furnishings and everyday life.

We got a mention on their Facebook page for our sponsorship of Alec Bizby, a Welsh menswear designer who graduated in 2022 from the fashion MA programme at Central Saint Martins. 

We gave Alec Bizby from Central Saint Martins some fabric for a collection he designed for the International Festival of Hyères, which celebrates up-and-coming artists in the areas of fashion, photography and accessories

Last year we worked with TOAST to create a special edition of our Knot Garden design, which they featured in their printed catalogue, and online.

This year the collaboration has continued with some more colours developed especially for Toast. They have also written a lovely blog about the mill, its history and products, and featuring the special products we’ve made for them. ...😊 

'Britain's Best Beach Huts' is a new programme where craftsman and restorer Jay Blades and interior design expert Laura Jackson go in search of the great British beach hut.
