With International Women’s Day having just been celebrated, it seems perfect timing to talk about the inspiration for our new design – Cofion Becca

The design – a nod to the traditions of our culture, with a stylized Welsh lady motif - celebrates Welsh women with ‘attitude’ and is now available to buy online

Llaeth y Llan Christmas Pudding packaging took inspiration from traditional Welsh blanket pattern ‘Caernarfon’ widely used in the Welsh Woollen Mill industry.

To coincide with the yogurt on sale in stores throughout Wales, the design on the pots has been commissioned into a highly collectable limited run of Welsh blankets and pillows woven here at Melin Tregwynt.

Nant Gwrtheyrn - or “the Nant” as it is often called – is home to the National Welsh Language and Heritage Centre on the northern coast of the Llyn Peninsula in north Wales. Nant Gwrtheyrn is managed by Ymddiriedoleath Nant Gwrtheyrn, a registered charity, and celebrates 40 years in 2018.

As part of the celebrations we have collaborated with Nant Gwrtheyrn to create an exclusive blanket based on our 1960’s original Welsh tapestry design ‘Vintage Star’.

In their book “A Year in Pembrokeshire” photographer David Wilson and broadcaster Jamie Owen have documented the historic county of Pembrokeshire in all its seasonal variety.

On their travels around Pembrokeshire they dropped in at Melin Tregwynt; and we’ve included some of the lovely images that David took during their visit. These show the mill, our staff and the surrounding countryside.

THE fashionable creations of more than 20 University of South Wales (USW) students have gone on show at a special graduation show in Cardiff.
As part of Faculty of Creative Industries’ Creative Graduate Festival, the show is just one of the events that celebrate the work of students who study on 20 courses at USW’s Cardiff Campus.

Saturday - visit by the Bentley Drivers Club - a great opportunity to see some absolutely classic and fantastic Bentley cars.

Sunday - a fantastic afternoon of Gypsy Jazz and food - thanks go to Aberjazz for their help in organising the band. The price included a pork roll with salad or vegetarian alternative and visitors enjoyed a glass of local beer, cider or wine while listening to the music.

It’s the perfect time of year for a walk in our bluebell woods or down on the beach with your four legged friends, so we’ve opened up a dog friendly café in our marquee. No matter how wet or dry, good or naughty, they can sit inside and join you for lunch or afternoon tea!

To celebrate the opening we invited our staff to bring their dogs to work on Friday 11th May.
