Morlyn Glas Coat

A bespoke, double breasted traditionally tailored coat featuring a themed hand printed lining; ‘Splash Explosion’ print.

Made with the ‘Morlyn Glas’ (Blue Lagoon ) fabric, from Melin Tregwynt’s ‘Ysbryd’ collection; a collection inspired by the colours and spirit of the Welsh landscape.

Cot ddwbl, wrth fesur wedi ei theilwra’n draddodiadol gyda leinin thematig wedi’i brintio â llaw; print ‘Ffrwydrad Sblash’.

Gwnaed y got yma o ddefnydd ‘Morlyn Glas’ a ddaw o gasgliad ‘Ysbryd’ Melin Tregwynt; casgliad o wehyddion blanced sy’n dehongli lliwiau ag ysbryd tirlun Cymru.

The Blue Lagoon in Abereiddy was formed when the channel connecting the St Brides Slate Quarry to the sea was blasted, allowing the sea to flood in. The ‘Splash Explosion’ lining print design represents this and was created by blowing ink drops with a straw.

Designed and made by Catherine (Teilwr Bach), using traditional tailoring techniques and screen printed by hand at The Printhaus.

These coats are part of a series of five, featuring original lining prints complimenting the theme of each fabric.

Ffurfiwyd Morlyn Glas yn Aberieddy pan gafodd y sianel a oedd yn cysylltu Chwarel Llechi St Brides â’r môr ei chwythu i fyny a’i orlifo. Mae print leinin ‘Ffrwydrad Sblash’ yn cyn-rychioli hyn, a chrëwyd y patrwm trwy chwythu diferion inc gyda gwelltyn.

Cafwyd ei gynllunio a’i wneud gyda thechnegau teilwra traddodiadol gan Catherine (Teilwr Bach), a phrintiwyd y defnydd leinin â llaw yn The Printhaus.

Mae’r got yma yn rhan o gyfres o bump, gyda phob un yn fflawntio leinin â phrint gwreiddi-ol a chysyniadol i gyd-fynd â thema’r defnydd.

An exhibition to showcase the coats and the lining print designs will take place at Melin Tregwynt from the 23rd of August until the 1st of October.

It will be possible to talk to Catherine and arrange trying on the coats on the following days:

Friday September 3rd: 11am - 2pm
Tuesday September 7th: 11am - 2pm.
Friday October 1st: 2pm - 5pm

Please get in touch to arrange a meeting during the exhibition or to order your bespoke coat with the limited edition printed lining. You can choose from the different coat styles and fabrics and the coat will be made to your personal measurements.
