Vintage Star Carreg Las
Vintage Star Carreg Las is more than a beautiful fabric - it is a tribute to our Welsh heritage. Created in support of the 2026 National Eisteddfod - to be hosted in Pembrokeshire with 10% of sales to be donated to the event.
Carreg Las - meaning “Blue Stone” in Welsh - draws inspiration from the Preseli Bluestones, the distinctive blue-grey rocks of Pembrokeshire’s Preseli Hills.
The beautiful colours and calming tones evoke the essence of the local stone, sky, sea and land, a constant presence evolving over the years. Vintage Star Carreg Las offers a comforting reminder of home, a quiet constant through life’s storms and celebrations alike.

A very special place
Melin Tregwynt, a small whitewashed woollen mill, can be found in a remote wooded valley on the Pembrokeshire coast.
There has been a mill on this site since the 17th century, when local farmers would bring their fleeces to be spun into yarn and woven into sturdy Welsh wool blankets.
Weathering wars, recessions and the passing of time, the looms have continued to work their magic. Melin Tregwynt fabrics are simple in spirit, satisfying in quality and timeless in design.
The mill is renowned for its Welsh woollen blankets and throws and Welsh woollen cushions, together with upholstery, simple stylish clothing, accessories and bags – all made in our unique Melin Tregwynt fabrics.

Weaving was first recorded at this whitewashed mill in the 1841 census, but Melin Tregwynt was founded by Henry Griffiths, who bought the mill in 1912.
The traditional flying shuttle looms have now been replaced by more modern rapier looms, but our signature double cloth, cartheni, welsh blankets and upholstery are still flying off the machines.
In 2022 to preserve its unique legacy, to protect skills and jobs, and to safeguard its heritage, the company became an Employee Owned Trust ensuring that all the staff have a stake in the business.
Beautiful, useful, and that little bit special. Contemporary yet steeped in history our weaves can be found in design led stores and hotels around the world.
